Happy Saturday! I am back again today with another card from CHA. This card is a simple one that is pretty quick and easy to make.
Cut a piece of double-sided heavy weight pattern paper (Tim Holtz Merriment) to 9″ x 5 1/2″ wide. Fold the paper in half to create a top fold card.
Tear along the bottom edge of the card front. Make a fold line 1/2″ above the torn edge. Make a second fold line 1/4″ above the first fold. Fold the card front so that the card folds back on itself on the inside of the card (think of a letter Z). Use an ink blending tool to apply Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges of the card.
Die cut a Tim Holtz On The Edge Star Cluster from manila cardstock. Paint the die cut with Picket Fence Distress Paint. Pounce the paint on the surface so that it creates a textured effect. Dry the paint with a heat tool. After drying, mist the stars with Biscotti Perfect Pearls Mist. Blot away any excess mist and dry with a heat tool. Use an ink blending tool to apply Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges of the stars. Trim the star border so that it fits into the slot in the front of the card. Make sure the bottom of the stars don’t extend past the bottom edge of the card.
Add a scrap of vellum cut to the same width as the card to the front of the card. Adhere it only along the edges. (Mine started out as a larger piece that I tore after sewing in place.) Add strips of Tissue Tape to the card front just above the fold.
Apply Picket Fence Distress Paint to the front of a Word Band. Use a dry cloth to rub away some of the paint. Dry the paint with a heat tool. Place the Word Band on a red and cream piece of Trimmings cut to the same width as the card. Adhere the Trimmings and Word Band to the front of the card over the tape. Machine stitch along the sides of the card.
Die cut a Mini Moon and stars (from the Crescent Moon & Stars die) from manila cardstock. Paint the die cuts with Picket Fence Distress Paint. Pounce the paint on the surface so that it creates a textured effect. Dry the paint with a heat tool. After drying, mist the stars and Mini Moon with Biscotti Perfect Pearls Mist. Blot away any excess mist and dry with a heat tool. Use an ink blending tool to apply Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges of the die cuts. Adhere the stars randomly matching them up with stars on the pattern paper. Adhere the moon with adhesive foam squares next to the Word Band. To give the moon’s cheeks a light pink glow, tap your finger in Spun Sugar Distress Ink and rub it onto the moon lightly.
Adhere Mirrored Stars randomly to some of the die cut and printed stars.
On the inside of the card, apply and Remnant Rub sentiment to a piece of vellum. Ink the edges of the vellum with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using an ink blending tool. Adhere the vellum to the inside of the card. Adhering the vellum with a sheet adhesive like Xyron will make it look seamless with no visible adhesive showing.
After today, I have one more Idea-ology/Sizzix card to share and then I will move on to Tim Holtz Stamper’s Anonymous cards… 12 of them. At the end of them I will have an amazing CHA giveaway that you won’t want to miss. It will be a sweet treat for sticking it out through all of these CHA posts!
