Hey there! Welcome to Take Two Thursday! Today I wanted to share a quick project idea with you. I really loved the scraps of the vellum I had left over from the Love This Life tag tutorial on Tuesday. I didn’t want it to go to waste so I decided to find a project to use it on. I have been planning on being a vendor at a local handmade craft fair this fall and am planning on selling some of my Crackled Metal Pendants there. I decided to see if I could use the scraps of vellum on the pendants in place of the alcohol ink I normally use for color. It was a success and I think the result is very cool looking!
I used the adhesive already on the backs of the vellum (Xryron) to adhere the vellum to the handmade copper blank. After applying the vellum, I embossed the copper and sealed it. If you want to make your own, you can check out the tutorial here: http://tammytutterow.com/2010/10/tutorial-alcohol-ink-crackled-metal-pendants/. If you love the look but don’t want to make them, you can see more of these pendants soon in my Etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/shop/tammytutterow).
By the way, aren’t those embossed stars so fun? They are from the new Tim Holtz Starry Night Texture Fade. I think it might be my new most favorite embossing folder!
