Today I have a quick and easy tag to share that uses The Chemist stamp set that I used on the card yesterday. You know how I love good quotes, so I was super happy to have this great stamp image to go with a quote I had just come across. This quote makes me think of my little girl Emma. She loves to read and will read the same books over and over. She says it is like visiting an old friend. I thought a tag with this quote would be a great bookmark for her.
To create this tag, I started by misting a manila tag with Antique Linen Distress Stain from a mister bottle. I used a dry cloth to blot away the excess stain and then dried it with a heat tool. I inked the text stamp from the Chemist stamp set with Vintage Photo Distress Stain. Stamping with Distress Stain creates a very fluid looking image. I love the look! After stamping, I dried the stain with a heat too. I applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges of the tag using an ink blending tool.
I stamped the sentiment on vellum using Jet Black Archival Ink. I adhered it to the tag with machine stitching. (I forgot to write which stamp set the clock face was from, but it is one of Tim’s.) I added Vintage Photo to the outside edges of the vellum using an ink blending tool.
I stamped the book image on manila cardstock. I colored it using assorted Distress Markers and a waterbrush. After coloring, I dried the stamped image with a heat tool. I used micro tip scissors to cut the image out. I used an ink blending tool to apply Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges of the image. Finally, I adhered it to the front of the tag.
Fast, simple, and fun!
Tomorrow I continue sharing stamping samples from CHA, next up, Christmas! I hope you will come back and take a look!
