Happy Sunday! Today I have a card to share with you. Does it look familiar? Yes! It is a second take on the Discover tag I shared on Friday! When I created the tag, I was just really inspired and playing while taking a break from CHA samples. I loved the design so much that I made it into a card as well to send to the show.
The card uses the exact same process and techniques as the Discover tag with two exceptions- I lined the inside back cover of the card with a piece of white cardstock. This added white behind the transparent bubbles.
I also inked some of the discarded bubbles and added them to the cover for added dimensional elements.
I embellished the card like before, except I added a seahorse and curvy banner. I die cut both from manila cardstock. I painted the banner with Picket Fence Distress Stain and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I added a Remnant Rub for a sentiment.
I inked the seahorse with Rusty Hinge and Wild Honey Distress Inks before coating him with Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. I painted the banner with Picket Fence Distress Stain and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. When I created the sand dollar, I sprinkled a few random bits of Distress Embossing Powder (can’t remember which color) to try to add even more texture. Honestly, I like it better without that, like on the tag.
I actually cut the banner in two so that it would fill the full width of the card. The final touch was added a Trinket Pin to the ribbon.
I love the way it turned out! I think it is a great demonstration of how you can take a tag idea and convert it to a card or vice versa. I hope it inspired you a bit this weekend too and that both made you dream a bit of days on the sand!
