My new favorite stencil? The new Tim Holtz Speckles Layering Stencil. I love images of speckled bird eggs and this stencil is perfect for creating the look speckled eggs. While others may see paint specks or something similar when they look at the design, all I see are bird eggs!
This card is super simple and so easy to create. Begin with a base card made of kraft cardstock. Cut a piece of manila cardstock so that it is slightly smaller than the card front.
Use an ink blending tool to apply Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks. Mist water onto your hand and flick it onto the ink to create water spots. Blot the cardstock with a dry cloth. Dry the cardstock with a heat tool. Place the Speckles Layering Stencil over the cardstock. Use an ink blending tool to Gathered Twigs Distress Ink through the stencil.
Use an ink blending tool to apply Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges of the piece of cardstock.
Adhere a scrap of Tissue Wrap to piece of manila cardstock using a glue stick. Ink the feather stamp from the Tim Holtz Nature Walk stamp set with Jet Black AND Potting Soil Archival Inks. Stamp the feather design onto the piece of Tissue Wrap/Cardstock. Adhere the piece to the cardstock toward the left edge. Ink the small text stamp from the stamp set using Jet Black Archival. Stamp the text on the cardstock along the top left and lower right edges of the cardstock.
Wrap a piece of jute around the cardstock. Use the jute to tie a number plaquette to the front of the assembled piece over the top of the feather. Add a Tiny Attacher staple to each side over the jute. Adhere the assembled piece onto the kraft card base.
That is it! So easy and so perfect for spring!
