Happy Thursday! On Thursdays I like to do a little thing I call Crafty Throw Back Thursday where I take a look back at a past project or tutorial. It is a great way for you to see some older tutorials you may have missed or revisit one you may have forgotten about. This week, I am throwing it back to April 2013 with this tag that I made in response to the horrible events that year at the Boston Marathon.
Although I wasn’t sure what I would create when I sat down, I just knew I needed to make something in reaction to the tragedy. It always helps me to stop and create when things in this world leave me without words. I was inspired by a quote I read by comedian Patton Oswald in reaction to the tragedy. I wanted to create something that signified beauty rising above. Although I didn’t know it when I was creating, the silver paint I used as a resist ended up looking like smoke. It somehow really captured what I was feeling. I love when art does that.
