I am back with another card featuring new stamps from the Tim Holtz holiday 2014 release. I love this shade of blue for Christmas and winter. There is something so wintry and cool about it when paired with white. This card is a simple one that I think really lets the cool vintage style text shine.
This card uses several of the stamps from the new Christmas Nostalgia stamp set. This one is my favorite set from the new Christmas sets. I love how versatile these elements are!
To create this card, cut a piece of kraft cardstock to 9″ x 5 3/4″. Fold the card in half to create a top fold card. Add thin torn edge to the front lower edge of the card. Brush the edges of the card with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using an ink blending tool. Stamp the snowflake design on a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) with Picket Fence Distress Paint. Use a heat tool to dry the paint well. Mist the watercolor cardstock with water and Broken China Distress Stain (placed in a mister bottle). Blot the excess water and stain. Dry with a heat tool. Brush the edges of the watercolor cardstock with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using an ink blending tool.
Ink the greenery stamp with Forest Moss and Festive Berries Distress Ink Markers. Stamp the image twice on the left side of the watercolor cardstock piece.
Stamp the text image on large piece of vellum using Black Soot Distress Ink. While the ink is still wet, sprinkle clear embossing powder over the ink. Use a heat tool to melt the embossing powder. Use a tearing ruler to tear the vellum above and below the stamped image. Brush the edges of the vellum with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using an ink blending tool. Wrap the vellum strip around the card front, wrapping the extra vellum around the edges of the watercolor paper. Secure the vellum in place on the back of the watercolor cardstock.
Color a pice of Crinkle Ribbon with Broken China Distress Ink. Wrap the ribbon around the watercolor cardstock, tying it in a simple bow over the top of the vellum. Adhere the assembled cardstock/vellum/ribbon piece to the front of the card. Machine stitch around the inside edge of the watercolor cardstock.
Adhere the watercolor paper to the front of the card. Embellish the card with Mirrored Stars.
This card is so easy and so pretty. I think it would be on that would be easy to make in bulk for holiday cards.
