Happy Thursday! On Thursdays I like to do a little thing I call Crafty Throw Back Thursday where I take a look back at a past project or tutorial. It is a great way for you to see some older tutorials you may have missed or revisit one you may have forgotten about. This week, I am throwing it back to November 2011.
This fabric book is one of my most favorite projects ever. Sewing was one of the first crafts I ever learned. My mom sewed and I remember being so fascinated by her sewing machine. I started sneaking and experimenting with sewing on her machine probably around age 10. I loved making my doll clothes and always sewed them by hand. I wanted to learn to use the machine! I am sure that my mom didn’t love my tinkering on her machine. I can just imagine her sitting down to discover the tension on her machine all messed up and wondering how it got that way!
In the 8th grade we had Home Ec class that included sewing. I was in heaven and I took to it really fast. Once I got to high school I took a Home Ec class every year so that I could sew at school. In my senior year I was able to take a sewing only class. It was a pretty awesome hour in my day every day. I don’t sew clothes much any more but I still love to sew. When I can combine sewing with my love of paper and mixed media, it is truly a bit of creative heaven for me.
This book combines a bit of everything I love- sewing, inking, stamping, and great music. It has the words to a song that inspires me and gets me moving.
For the flashback I have added the link to this pattern for this book on the original post and on my printable patterns page.

Remember, you can always find a full directory of my previous blog tutorials here: Tammy Tutterow blog tutorials.
I hope you will enjoy making it as much I did! I am totally itching to make a new version of this book soon. I will be sure to share it when I do!
