Happy 4th of July to all of my friends in the United States! Today I wanted to share a quick card idea with you today in celebration of July 4th.
The base of the card is a #12 jumbo manila tag from Ranger. I folded it in half to create a side fold card. I placed the front of the card in the Rays Texture Fade to and sun rays at the top of the card. I used an ink blending tool to apply Scattered Straw and Broken China Distress Inks to the card front using an ink blending tool. I also applied Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges of the card using an ink blending tool.
I stamped the flag image twice on Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper using Jet Black Archival Ink. I colored the stripes section of the card using Picket Fence and Festive Berries Distress Markers. I cut the image out and inked the edges of it using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and an ink blending tool. I misted water onto my hand and flicked it onto the paper to create water spots. I used a heat tool to dry the water and ink.
I colored the blue part of the flag with a Chipped Sapphire Distress Marker. I flicked water onto it as well to create water spots. After drying I added Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the edges using an ink blending tool. I cut out the star section and adhered it to the top of the larger whole flag piece.
I stamped the Statue of Liberty twice on Specialty Stamping Paper. I colored both pieces with a Bundled Distress Marker using a water brush. I cut out one whole image and just the crown from the second one. I adhered the crown to the
I adhered the crown to the larger whole statue using glue only along the bottom edge of the crown.
I added adhesive foam under the top of the crown to make it stand out.
I cut a small slit in the fold of the card so that I piece of dyed Crinkle Ribbon through it. I wrapped the ribbon around the card front, added a Word Band, and tied the ribbon in a knot.
I stamped the USA image on Specialty Stamping Paper. I colored the letters with Festive Berries, Picket Fence, and Chipped Sapphire. After cutting out each of the letters I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
To assemble the card, stamp the USA image on the card front. in the lower left corner. Adhere the Statue of Liberty to the front of the card overlapping the A on the USA Blueprint image. Slip her arm under the ribbon and Word Band. Adhere the assembled flag over the top of her arm and under her head. Add the individual USA letters so that they match up with the stamped letters on the card front.
I hope you all have a fabulous day today and get to enjoy some great time with family and friends! Enjoy a hot dog or two for me! My hubby is working so Emma and I plan to hang out in the studio and get crafty all day!
