This week I have showcased my Shortie Tags die. I wanted to wrap up the week by sharing a card that incorporates the Shortie Tag along with my Scoop Pocket and Happy Day coloring stamp.
To create the pocket I cut one Scoop Pocket from cream cardstock. I cut a second a second pocket from pattern paper (Echo Park). I placed the paper on the die so that I only cut the front part of the pocket from pattern paper. I trimmed the pattern paper pocket front down about 1/8″ from each side. I adhered the pattern paper pocket front to the cream cardstock pocket (unassembled) and then machine stitched around the edges. I finished assembling the pocket.
I stamped the image twice on Ranger’s Mixed Media cardstock. Colored the two images with Distress Markers and a water brush for a watercolor effect. I cut one of the colored images to fit the pocket front and adhered it. I tied dyed Crinkle Ribbon around the pocket and tied it in a fluffy bow.
I cut the banner part of the second stamped image out. I adhered it to the first stamped image over the top of the ribbon. I added adhesive to the second stamped image along the top and right sides of the banner. I curled the left side of the banner up a bit so that it would be dimensional. Tuck a little piece of an adhesive foam square under the lifted part.
I cut a Shortie Tag from cream cardstock to use as an insert in the pocket. I created a scallop edge topper from pattern paper. After adhering the topper to the tag, I added machine stitching around the edges of the tag.
The tag is perfect for adding a personal note, attaching a photo, or even a gift card.
Slip the tag inside the pocket and you have a fun card for someone special. The fun part of it is that it is different from the usual card and full of handmade love!
