Happy Grams are all about creating art that makes you smile. The stamps are all about images and words that bring a smile or bit of encouragement to your day. And this little cutie is a total smile inducer and is a new stamp in my Happy Grams 3 collection with Spellbinders.
This card is such a quickie! I stamped the image on Copic friendly cardstock twice. I colored the entire image on one copy and just the sun on the second. I used Copic Markers to color my image, but you could use any markers or colored pencils, watercolor, etc.
Although you can’t see it in the photo, I added shimmer to the word SHINE with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer brush. It adds a nice layer of shine to the word making it really stand out.
I cut out the sun only image around the wide rays and center.
I adhered the cut out sun over the full image using adhesive foam squares. I stacked two squares together to make the sun stand up a bit higher.
I matted the stamped image on Echo Park gingham paper that is adhered to a cream colored card. I added machine stitching around the edge of the stamped image for added texture. I also added two small buttons for a touch of color and fun.
Isn’t this fun? I think adding the popped up layer really adds a fun touch and really helps that cute little sun stand out.
Tomorrow I am back with another video tutorial featuring one of my new stencils. I hope you will come back by to check it out!
