Happy Friday Friends! Five For Friday is all about sharing 5 links to creative inspiration that you need to check out before you get your crafty groove on for the weekend.
I am still struggling to find balance with summer vacation. I have so many projects I need to share and yet my focus and attention is keeping it from getting done. I swear to you, my brain is all over the place. This happens every summer when my routine gets broken. On the upside, Emma are having a lot of fun trying out new projects. My oldest daughter is getting married so I am working on my flower making skills with wool felt. As an off shoot of that, I tried needle felting to add some shading to the flowers and found out that Emma was wanting to try her hand at it after seeing it on YouTube and Pinterest. She is a total natural and is making lots of little wool animals. We have both been sucked into searching Pinterest for more ideas and tutorials. I share lots of photos of these projects on my Instagram if you are curious. So even though I should be blogging and sharing more here, I am sharing on Insta and having a really fun summer with my girl.
Ok, enough about me, how about some eye candy from my amazing team?
Cathie Cowles: Oh my heart! This card is just sweet and makes me smile! I love the way that Cathie created a simple background using the Polka Hearts stencil and then “topped” it off with a paper pieced Ice Cream Cone from the Ice Cream stamp & die set and finished it off with a Tiny Sentiment! Check out Cathie’s card tutorial here: A Little Dose of Happy Card.
Note- This card illustrates a fun little oops… the ice cream cone stamp comes with a sentiment. In the past, stamps that combined images and words were all one piece. In this case, the factory made an oops and made them two separate stamps. I LOVED it and had a total light bulb moment. You will be seeing more stamps split into sets in the future! 😉
Kathy Clement: I love, love, love ladybugs and gingham and posies and stitching. And I love how Kathy combined them all together here so flawlessly! Oh, and that paper piecing of the ladybug on pattern paper… so cute!! Check out all the details on Kathy’s blog: Love & Luck Card
Lin Brandyberry: I used to say that Lin was the Fussy Cutting Queen… well she still is, but now she is also the Plaid Queen to me! She rocks my Mad for Plaid stencil like crazy! I spotted a card from her on Instagram not long ago and marveled at the plaid background paper she used, not realizing that it wasn’t paper, it was my stencil! Check out more details of Lin’s card on her blog: With Much Love Card.
Terri Kolte: Terri is the Mix Master when it comes to combining different elements. This fun card is a perfect example- I spy Dear Ruby, my Polka Party stencil, and of course the Ice Cream Cone stamp and die. Check out all the details of Terri’s card on her blog: Sprinkles on Top Card
Vicki Chrisman: Can you imagine the smile on the face of every guest coming to visit if this sweet hoop wreath was on your door or in your entryway? It is just so joyful and happy! I am day dreaming about making one for my door since I first saw this one! Check out more details on Vicki’s blog: Home Sweet Home Wreath.
