Yesterday we celebrated Earth Day. What a great day to stop and think about our world and all the wonders in it. I always like to spend part of the day getting my hands dirty working in my flower gardens. I try to block out all the noise of life when I am in my garden trying to think about nothing more than the incredible detail and magic found in nature. This quote is a favorite and so perfect for my garden time.
This past week I spent Thanksgiving morning in my favorite comfy chair with my sketch pad and my pup. I was thinking of all the things I was thankful for in my life. Some of them are huge and some are small. I wrote out this lettering bit as I thought of those things. I love the way it turned out and decided that it would make a great coloring page. I wish I could have had it edited and ready to post on Thanksgiving, but reminded myself that we shouldn’t limit ourselves to a spirit of thanksgiving just one day a year. I hope that you will enjoy it and be reminded of all that you are thankful for as you color it.
A couple of months back I drew this piece on a day when I was feeling sad. Since I work from home alone, being a part of social media is a link to the outside world. On that day, I felt overwhelmed by the harsh and hurtful words towards others being thrown around so freely. I found myself wishing more people would focus on love and the things that make us alike instead of what makes us different.
